Abstract

This article presents the synthesis of cobalt-calcium phthalocyanine pigment and investigates the influence of various factors on the synthesis conditions. The optimal synthesis temperature was found to be 185°C. The highest reaction yield is achieved at a molar ratio of starting materials (terephthalic acid : phthalic anhydride : urea : cobalt (II) chloride : calcium chloride) of 1:1:5:0.5:1. IR spectroscopic analysis of the synthesized pigment revealed that the corresponding vibrations shifted compared to those of the starting materials. Using a UV spectrophotometer, measurements were carried out in the wavelength range of 190-1100 nm, and the dependence of light absorption on wavelength is presented for each pigment. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis results of the new pigment show that decomposition occurs in three stages: the first stage involves the removal of unbound water; the second stage involves the decomposition of the organic part with the release of gases such as CO, CO₂, NH₃, leaving a mixture of metal carbonates, oxides, and carbon residue; the third stage involves the decomposition of carbonates, resulting in metal oxides and carbon residue.
