THE ROLE OF BOYSUN IN THE RELATIONS OF OASIS PRINCIPALITIES DURING THE TURKIC KHAGANATE PERIOD

This article broadly examines the political, socio-economic, and cultural relations of the Chag‘oniyon principality—particularly Boysun—within the Tokharistan oasis polity under the Turkic Khaganate, with its neighboring regions. It also provides an in-depth analysis of the historical role and significance of Boysun in its relations with other oasis polities and principalities. Furthermore, the information about Boysun found in the accounts of Chinese travelers is comprehensively analyzed. In addition, data on the system of titles within the administrative structure of Chag‘oniyon during the Khaganate period, as recorded in various sources, are comparatively studied.
