This article examines the daily dynamics of transpiration intensity, one of the important indicators of water exchange, in cotton varieties grown under the conditions of the Surkhandarya region under conventional and resource-efficient irrigation methods. Comparison of the irrigation methods showed that more stable soil moisture in the root zone under drip irrigation affects the transpiration process of cotton varieties. The response of the varieties to the irrigation methods differed, which was associated with their water exchange characteristics and ecological adaptability. The results obtained are of scientific and practical importance for efficient cotton water use, optimization of cotton water requirements, and improvement of resource-efficient irrigation technologies.
