Abstract

This article analyzes the formation of ancient horse breeds in Central Asia, their classification based on biological and morphological characteristics, and their representation in historical sources. Based on written monuments, archaeological findings, and numismatic materials, the culture of horse breeding and the role of horses in the socio-military life of the region are examined. The study includes a comparative analysis of Chinese chronicles, Greco-Roman, Arab, and Persian sources. The results demonstrate that ancient horse breeds played a significant role in the economic, cultural, and political development of the region.
